LogSat Professional errors in keplerian elements | ||
|
Invalid Element Values Reported by LogSat Professional While Updating the Keps Please note that this problem has been fixed for keps available on our site, but there may still be difficulties with other sites.Unfortunately some of the keps in the files available from our site (and others) are using an unusual format. Following is a small excerpt from the keps.tle file. As you may note, the Brasilsat 1 and the Nahuel I1 are two of satellite causing problems. We've also included 3 other "normal" ones. Please look at the entry for the Epoch Time (it's the 4th number of the second line for each satellite). For the Nato 3D the number is 97016.41932336. This stands for the 16.41932336th day of (19)97. Now look at the same entry for the Brasilsat 1. It's 97 16.11214381, with a space (rather than a zero) between the 97 and the 16. All of the satellites that cause errors have a space instead of a zero separating the year from the days, if these are less than 100. This invalidates the keps, producing the error LogSat reports. We hope that the distributors of these elements will soon revert to the normal fomat used until now. The current release of LogSat automatically fixes this error.
