We have officially released SpamFilter v3.1.3.605 to licensed users.

We have also updated the free evaluation version to SpamFilter v3.1.3.599.

There are a *lot* of changes from the previously available free version. Please see the release history available at www.logsat.com/sfi-release-notes-and-bug-fixes.asp for a complete list. Please note that the new SFDB filter is available in the free version, but it is limited to a 15-day evaluation trial. Furthermore, upload of spammer's IPs is disabled in the free version.

For licensed users, this release contains mainly bug fixes from the previous version (3.1.3.597). The list follows below.

// New to VersionNumber = '3.1.3.605';
{TODO -cFix : Keyword in the form of: "Subject:,somekeyword" would cause an Access Violation and cause th emessage to be lost}

// New to VersionNumber = '3.1.3.604';
{TODO -cFix : Once more modified code to reduce risk of Connection count not decreasing}
{TODO -cNew : The antivirus plugin now attempts to crack zip passwords to detect password-protected viruses. Updated dwnse.dll is required.

// New to VersionNumber = '3.1.3.601';
{TODO -cNew : Modified logging. Appended "(Exceeded max Connections per IP)" to "Too many connections" log line when this specific limit is reached.
{TODO -cFix : Once more modified code to reduce risk of Connection count not decreasing}

// New to VersionNumber = '3.1.3.600';
{TODO -cFix : Added 100ms delay on disconnect to help reduce risk of Connection count not decreasing}

// New to VersionNumber = '3.1.3.599';
{TODO -cNew : Keyword containing only "Subject:" would cause an Access Violation Exception}

// New to VersionNumber = '3.1.3.598';
{TODO -cNew : Added AddIncorrectAUTHLOGINEHLOEntry option in SpamFilter.ini file to for older email clients that have AUTH=LOGIN bug}

Why does the installation of the new version create a new/empty database? I had to recover all the spam emails from the backup.

i cannot upgrade from 3.1.3.597 to 3.1.3.605 !

I have two SF and the first upgrade has gone successfully, but the second did not start at all.

Services panel shows "starting" but nothing changes and in the task manager i can see spamfiltersvc.exe growing slowly in memory use.

The only difference between the two servers is the international setting, the first is USA setting, the second is UK setting.

Could you please help me?

Stupid,

Sorry for the delay, and thanks for the report. We did indeed have aproblem with the new installation setup application, which overwote the SpamFilter.mdb database with a blank, default copy. This has been fixed in the new release 3.1.3.614.
