Hi, is the keygenerator for the norman AV plugin not working?

I have requested a key 4 times in the last 5 days and have not received the email with the key. I have checked Spamfilter, quarantine, and my AV filter and it wasn't there.

Any ideas?

Wayne,

We double-checked, and the emails are being sent correctly. Have you tried using a different email address?

Hi Roberto, the other email address worked (the both go to the same server/mailbox) but on the first attempt the SPF lookup returned a fail so was disconnected.

found SPF record: v=spf1 a mx ip4:209.26.140.0/24 ip4:64.94.119.0/24 -all
03/30/05 17:16:43:185 -- (7992) SPF query result:

SPF analysis for logsat.com done: - fail
03/30/05 17:16:43:185 -- (7992) failed SPF test (fail) - Disconnecting 10.1.1.160
03/30/05 17:16:43:185 -- (7992) 10.1.1.160 - Mail from: robot at logsat dot com To: wfreeman at ccsincometrust dot com will be disconnected
03/30/05 17:16:43:185 -- (7992) Disconnect

I added at logsat dot com to my whitelist and it worked.

Thanks Heaps,

Wayne

jacksun,

I'm afraid you have a problem with your SpamFilter configuration. From the log you posted we can see that your SpamFilter is receving emails from 10.1.1.160. That will cause all IP and DNS-based filters to fail. This is because SpamFilter is seing your internal translated IPs rather than the real IP address of the sender. SpamFilter needs to see the *real* IP address of the sender in order to be effective.

In this example SpamFilter sees 10.1.1.160 instead of our server's IP of 209.26.140.x. As such, the SPF filter will fail because SpamFilter is seing an email from user@logsat.com originating from 10.1.1.160. Since 10.1.1.160 is not authorized by our SPF DNS record to send emails on behalf of logsat.com, the test will fail. All your DNS MAPS filters will also fail since SpamFilter will not see the real IP of the sender...

We strongly recommend you reconfigure your firewall so that SpamFilter will not see the translated external IP addresses, but rather will see the real IP of the remote server.

Hi Roberto, it is in the plans. Our mail comes through McAfee webshield, then to spamfilter, then to our mail server.
Your addition of virus checking couldn't have come at a better time.

Thanks for the quick help, as always great support.

Cheers,
Wayne
