Can anyone explain what is going on with Hotmail and their SPF records ? I always get Soft failures from them. found SPF record: v=spf1 include:spf-a.hotmail.com include:spf-b.hotmail.com include:spf-c.hotmail.com include:spf-d.hotmail.com ~all |

Lee,I recommend going to the SPF website at http://spf.pobox.com for more accurate info. That said, the "softfail" is a switch (the ~ in front of the last ~all) that tells anti-spam software how the host (hotmail) would like emails that fail the filter to be handled. Softfail means that hotmail would like such emails to be "flagged" as spam, but would prefer to have them delivered. This is supposed to be used during a rollout phase of SPF.Roberto F.
