I just noticed that SPAM filter is up to version 2.1.x.x...  I am using 1.2.x.x...  Can I load the new version over the old without losing any of my settings?

bsieloff,

We developed SpamFilter trying to keep things as simple as possible. SpamFilter is self-contained in its own install directory, we do not place any files/dll's in any other directory. The setup program simply stops the SpamFilter service if it's running, then overwrites the program files (not the SpamFilter.ini files and your configuration files). If you wish, you can perform a very simple manual upgrade, which allows you to control every step. To upgrade manually, you simpley need to stop SpamFilter, then overwrite the SpamFilter.exe and SpamFilterSvc.exe files with the ones you will find in the zipped distribution file, then restart SpamFilter. No reboots are ever necessary. Depending on which version you're upgrading to, the exe location in the zip is different. If you're upgrading to an official release, the exe's are in the Win32 subdirectory in the zip. If you're upgrading to a pre-release build, in that case the exe's are the only two files present in the zip.
