I am getting this error when I send email through the spam filter:

66.160.121.205 does not like recipient.

Remote host said: 550 requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable

giving up on 66.160.121.205

My bounce back message says:

Rejected - No relay allowed or % found in from address.

Shawn,

We've been trying to answer you by email but we are also receiving bounces.

Your domain has 3 MX records, I won't name them here to protect your privacy. On your primary MX record with preference 0 you have an SMTP server listening, but it is not SpamFilter. When we attempt to send mail to your domain it is handled by that server with MX pref. 0. It is that server that is causing the rejection of your emails. Following is the telnet trace we obtain sending you an email:

telnet mailgate.**********.com 25
220 SMTP service ready
helo test.logsat.com
250 Requested mail action okay, completed
mail from:<roberto@logsat.com>
250 Requested mail action okay, completed
rcpt to:<xxxxxx@zzzzzzzz.com>
553 Requested action not taken: mailbox name not allowed or chunk too large

The same error occurs when telnet-ing to your SMTP server listening on your MX record with preference 10 (herndon).

Your SMTP server on your MX record with preference 5 instead (mail) returns an unrecoverable 421 error immediately after connecting to it:

421 SMTP service not available, closing transmission channel

I'm not sure where SpamFilter is located on your network, but when viewed from the outside the configuration problems do not appear to be caused by SpamFilter.

Roberto F.
LogSat Software

421 SMTP service not available, closing transmission channel

I have been changing things on the spam server this morning, that is probably why you were receiving those messages. I changed everything back so you can get through now. Email me at smay@wbworldwide.com and you will get through.
