Running 704 with enterprise DB
Some recipients in local domains list, didn't receive messages and log reports as follow:
"Some recipients do not exist, sending NDR bounce to sender".
The bounce message is:
"Sorry, your message to existing.account@localdomain.com could not be delivered. The specific error is: The following recipients are unknown: existing.account@localdomain.com" That's not correct since domain is in local domain's list and the account exists.
a) Any problem on mail server is excluded since it accepts and deliver messages to that account when telnet.
b) recipents mailboxes are not over quota
c) there is one recipent per message
Thanks for your support Roberto.

rudaf,
What you reported is indeed a bug, and a patch has already been available. Please see the following release note: // New to VersionNumber = '3.5.4.709'; {TODO -cFix : When forwarding emails to the destination SMTP server, if such server rejected the emails due to a mailbox full error, SpamFilter would instead send an NDR with the incorrect bounce message "The following recipients are unknown"} If you download the latest version of SpamFilter (3.5.4.714), that should solve the problem. |

Good.
So are you saying that each reject cause from the destination server is translated in ""The following recipients are unknown"?
I ask you that since i red such release note, and it reported just "due to a mailbox full error"; i posted this topic since destination mailboxes were not full.
Thanks Roberto

Yes, the bug that was reported was for that particular case, but the problem was more general than that, and it did affect multiple rejection types.
