Finding from and to adresses in the AutoWhiteListForceDelivery.txt file is very cumbersome, would it be possible to have an overview of what is listed in the txt file from the GUI? Managing the listings from there would be much easier i think. Errors occur (in my case) when a mail is quaraintined, and looks like it may be a valid email (non-spam). I have to send it on for proper review, but it then gets added to AutoWhiteListForceDelivery.txt. If it then turns out to be spam afterall i have to remove it from AutoWhiteListForceDelivery.txt. This issue could be prevented if a 'deliver suspect mail' button were present in the GUI. With that button i aim at a previously requested feature that would deliver the mail, but would NOT add the adresses to AutoWhiteListForceDelivery.txt.

Marco,
We believe using Notepad, TextPad, or any other text editor to view that file would be easier than using SpamFilter's limited GUI. You probably already know, but saving the changes to the file with Notepad for example, will cause SpamFilter to re-import it within 60 seconds. As for the "deliver suspect", it would require some database changes that would cause too much of an impact both to SpamFilter and to the users who have developed custom web interfaces. Please note that users can preview an email right from the web interface, without needing to force-deliver it, to decide if it's spam or not. |

One issue I used to have was when an end user accidentally forced delivered a bunch of spam to their inbox and thus accidentally auto-white listed a whole slew of spam addresses. After having to clean up the auto-white list a few times, I decided to go into the web interface and customize the send/delete buttons to pop up a confirmation window with an on.click variable to confirm the end user's action to give them a chance to realize they are about to really screw things up for themselves. Haven't had any more auto-white list accidents since. |
