I don't know about alot of other people but during this whole virus deal, it's a pain in the ass for my users to soft through their spam, would it be possible to adjust the blacklists so that if you don't want to quaruntine the entire keywords or attachments lists. This would allow spamfilter to continue on with normal spam functions while completly filtering out and rejecting the virus. I don't think anyone really needs to quaruntine a virus? Basically when you add keywords in, can you add a code to have it also rejected while everything else is quruntined. Kevin |

I was just thinking of how to word such a request. There are definitely some things in my various blacklists that I don't want quarantineed (as I am 100% sure of them) and others that I'm less certain about. As for the virus, if you're using the beta, you can trap them by attachment filtering... |

Kevin, Let me see if I understand the request correctly. You'd like to have a keyword list similar to the following: keyword1 and have keyword3 and keyword5 cause the email to be deleted instead of being quarantine? If so, that is fairly easy to implement. Most blacklist entries, domains, emails, IP, etc already allow users to ad a :null suffix to individual entries, which causes them to be "sent to NULL", skipping the quarantine. The keyword tests are the only exception, it's not implemented there yet, but it will be fairly easy to do so. Roberto F.

Yes that would be VERY helpful with this virus. Would it also be possible to do this for the file attachments?

Roberto there seem to be quite a few undocumented tricks that answer many needs but users are simply not aware of these tricks. Is there a way you can tabulate and post and update an Administrator's Reference with this type of info? |

Alan, We often implemnt specific rqeuests asked for by a handful of users. When so, we usually only make them available by use of INI settings. You do have a point with your request, we'll try to document them better in the future. Roberto F. |

I too, would like this as I am already using the ":null" settings. The only issue is that is a filter that does not have a null filters the message first, it will still get quarantined. This has been a minor issue only but it is important to understand the order that things get filtered. Dan S. |
