Hi, All! I am using attachments black list. Why don't send NDR if mail rejected? |

Alexey, If I am not mistaken, banned attachments *do* send NDRs by design. However, presumably, you add a banned attachment because you feel it is a virus and since most viruses forge the from header, sending a return would only go to the wrong recipient anyway.
EXAMPLES:
*.ade Will block and send NDR
*.ade:nondr Will block and NOT send NDR
*.ade:null Will block and NOT send NDR and NOT send to quarantine
Anyone feel free to correct me.
Regards,
Dan S.

Indeed! But sometimes useful attachment comes with "wrong" extension and sender not receive NDR.
I'm using only first variant, but NDR not sending. Maybe some settings have an influence on it?

Alexey, Hmmm ... I just tested again by sending a banned attachment from my hotmail account and received the following in my hotmail box: Reporting-MTA: dns;hotmail.com Final-Recipient: rfc822;XXX@XXXs.net So I am not sure what is happening on your end. Dan S. |
