I have just installed the most recent version, 2.01.347. Since installation, I can not "Check" a Bayesian probability. It appears that the learning status is active. When I installed, should I have done something with my existing corpus directory? Is the Bayesian filter still "Learning"? What would the outcome of turning off the "Learn new incoming emails" be? Thanks for any input. |

Dave, You have just uncovered what I'd classify as a GUI inconvenience. When you attempt to show the Bayesian statistics or a message manually (Settings - Bayesian Filter - Bayesian Probability tab), the result of the test are displayed in the "Corpus Database" tab. But there's no indications in the GUI to tell users where to find the result... We'll have this taken care of in the next build. If you disactivate "Learn new incoming emails" the corpus database will stop processing incoming emails to "learn" about its contents. SpamFilter will still analyze it to decide if it's spam or not, but it will nt update the corpus database with the new words contained in the email. This will mean that your corpus database will become static and will not self-adjust anymore to the changes in spam. When you updated, what version did you updated from? In general, no changes were needed to the corpus except if upddating from one of the very early betas. Roberto F. |
