Why SF does not allow the relay confirmation of emails? Thank you, Simone |

I'm not sure what you mean by "does not allow the relay confirmation of emails"... Can you please try one more time?

My english... ! Ok, i'll try ! When i send an email with outlook (but i assume that other email client does) i can request in the properties of the email a confirmation that the message reach the destination email server and, when it has been received by the destination server (not client) it sends back a "confirmation of relay". My thoughts would be that SF isnt the destination server, it is just a relay server. In which case it is probably the destination server behind SF that should send the confirmation of delivery. Delivery confirmations are optional, and servers do not have to provide them, in which case you sometimes (but not always) receive an email stating your email has been passed onto a server that does not support delivery confirmation and therefore you may not receive a deliver confirmation when delivered. Interested in the thoughts of somebody who actually knows for sure how delivery confirmations work... |

Simone,
lyndonje is correct. SpamFilter simply forwards the email from Outlook to your destination SMTP server, which in turn will take care of delivering the email to its final destination. If anything has to be done with delivery/confirmation receipts, your destination SMTP server will be handling the process. When the remote server sends back a receipt, again SpamFilter will simply receive it and pass it on to your SMTP server. Please note that most system emails (receipts included) arrive with an emtpy sender, so if you configured SpamFilter to "Reject if Empty Mail From" the email will be rejected as spam. |
