I'm currently trying out SPAMFilter which I find meet our needs quite well. However, I need a simple question answered before I make a purchase. Sometimes spam comes through the filter, and when I report these to Spamcop I get an error when Spamcop parses the header because the header created by the trialversion isn't RFC-compliant. The Received By-line says "(LogSat Software SMTP Server - Unlicensed Evaluation Copy)" instead of the hostname which it should. I understand the need to tag the header, but I think it's rather silly to make the emails non-rfc-compliant in the process... However, I still like the product and just need to know if the line is tagged with the hostname in the licensed version? |

Holger,
I believe you just discovered a bug that has been introduced in the latest versions of SpamFilter. We were indeed able to replicate the problem. The received by line should contain the host name or the IP address of SpamFilter, and that is not being inserted, we see a "space" in its place. This was not the case in previous builds, so there must have been a regression error somewhere. This will be fixed with a patched build within the next 12/48 hours. Please note however that only licensed users have access to the latest builds of SpamFilter. If you'd like to test the patched version, please contact us via email at support@logsat.com for arrangements. |

SpamFilter ISP build 2.1.2.404 has been pre-released in the registered
user area. It contains a fix to add the fully qualified name of the
server to the Received by header to correct the problem.
