Ok, here's the scoop.

Message originates from a Mac

Message is sent through a local ISP, which uses Qmail for their mail server.

The qmail server tried to deliver this message to me.

I recieve the message but the qmail server or the logsat server drops the connection when there is only something like a few bytes left. Now Spamfilter forwards the message on as complete and I get a copy, but the qmail server does not accept that the message it forwarded and keeps the message in q and keeps sending this to me over and over and over. Kind of annoying considering there is a 2mb attachment.

Any ideas? This is getting annoying!!!

Kevin,

Is it possible to have the Mac user send us that same message to support@logsat.com so we can see it? That would help a lot in troubleshooting. Please emails us the copy you received as well so we can take a look at it as well.

Note that we'll need the original full copy of the msg you received, forwarding the message from Outlook will not work as it will be very different from the original. Please let us know which version of SpamFilter you are using as well.

Kevin,

We could not reproduce your exact problem, but did find something else wrong which may have caused it. The encoding in the email you sent us was particularly complex, and SpamFilter took longer than usual to decode the message. If your email traffic is high the remote server might timeout while SpamFilter decodes the incoming email. This causes the remote server to think there's a problem and to retry later. On the other hand, SpamFilter did receive the message, and simply took longer to decode and scan it for keywords. When it's done, it forwards the message even if the remote server disconnected.

We developed a quick patch for this. It has not been thoroughly tested, but if you wish to use it before we release it officially, please contact us at sipport@logsat.com.
