A customer has contacted me saying they've had an email quarantine by the country filter, however the sender is in the UK (which is not a blacklisted country).

I checked the IP and SF thinks the IP is based in Jordan.

I've done WHOIS lookup on the IP address and it is in the UK, so I was wondering what the source of the country database was and how likely it is to be up to date?

The IP in question is 195.90.97.27 & 195.90.97.26.

Lyndonje, you are correct, the current database does show the old country.
We would have updated the database in the next official release. We use MaxMind (www.maxmind.com) as the provider for the data. We've placed an updated geoip.dat file at http://www.logsat.com/SpamFilter/pub/GeoIP.zip for download. Simply stop SpamFilter, copy the new file to the SpamFilter directory, and restart SpamFilter to activate it.

Roberto,

I had already updated the Geo DB (check it on a regular basis).  SpamFilter DOES NOT seem to require a restart when I do the copy.  Have I just been lucky?

oops... this is a "good" oops, as we re-checked the Geo code, and... yes, I guess we programmed it better that I remembered! We confirm that no restarts are necessary, SpamFilter will immediately see the new database and start using it.
