We are getting customers that are requesting a spam function that allows them to authorize senders.  For example someone sends an email to the spam gateway and if they are not part of an authorized sender list then it will send them back an email to authorize them.  If they click on the link in the authorize email then it will add them to the list and then forward the email.

Are there any plans on adding this type of functionality?  And if not do you know of a product that will sit will with SpamFilterISP that will do this?

Thank You,
Jason

If you want my opinion challenge response causes more problems then it fixes by generating more sensless traffic to spam that probably has an invalid return address. You also have the problem of someone's address being 'joe jobbed' and that person has an autporsponder on their account so when a challenge is sent it gets stuck in a loop between the. Also most ecommerce sites send invoices or utilities or cc companies send you statements and if you don't whitelist them ahead of time you never get them because they use a noreply user and have no idea that bill or statement never got thru.

With SF the spam is rejected immediately without ndr's cluttering up the whole internet (true if you use AuthorizedTo list). You can check the quarantine db once a day and whitelist any false positives and they are whitelisted forever.

Jasone,

There are currently no plans to implement this functionality.

Jason,

As WebGuyz states above, my observations are that it is a very real problem.  It actually can cause such high traffic and queuing volume that we, as an ISP, have a policy prohibiting our customers from using their own versions of sender authentication or even gray listing.  At the ISP level, where we queue for up to 5 days, the issue becomes very problematic.  Should LogSat decide to add a feature like that, any user with high volume will certainly be turning it off in short order.

My 3 cents!
