Why is it that the limbo cache is clearing itself out almost immediately? I use to come in here and click refresh and get a ton of IPs. Now if I keep hitting refresh it builds up alittle then starts clearing itself out.

Whats changed?

It appears every minute the limbo cache is cleared.

You define the rules for how long IP's are kept in Limbo cache (blacklist cache). The one minute cleanup is just housekeeping. New info being entered all the time and once a minute any entries that did NOT meet the criteria are removed.

here are the spamfilter.ini entries that control this behaviour:

IPCacheLimboCountTrigger=4
IPCacheLimboTimeTrigger=10
IPCacheBlacklistDuration=180

Hmmm ... It looks like IKILLSPAM1 may be on to something however.  I tracked an IP and even with IPCacheLimboTimeTrigger=10 set, the LIMBO IP timed out way sooner than 10 minutes. ... like 1 or 2 minutes.

Ouch. Confirmed. The IPs are remaining in the limbo cache for one minute only, regardless of the IPCacheLimboTimeTrigger setting. The blacklist cache works as expected.

We'll have a fix shortly (hours - as it seems like a regression error that can be easily solved), and will update this posting when it will be available.

Thanks for confirming guys. I knew my settings were good because I rechecked them and then checked the logs.

Im surprised no one caught this before me. Will look for an update.

Thanks,
Joe

IKILLSPAM1, we actually released a patched build the same night you reported it :-) The latest build avail in the registered user area will have the fix for this issue.
