Good Morning,

Starting in the last four days or so,  my SPAMFILTERISP server has started rejecting almost every email it looks at.  The reason it gives for blocking these emails is ...

Your domain logsat.com does not have a valid MX DNS record. Disconnecting...

Has anyone else seen this problem or might have any suggestions???

Dan,

Did you make any changes to your environment? That error is very unusual, as you SpamFilter sees incoming emails coming from logsat.com's email addresses (which of course can't be right).
Can you post a section of your SpamFilter's activity logfile showing a few emails being rejected?

Here is a section from the logfile.  Currently, I have turned off filtering by Invalid MX record, and people appear to be recieving their email messages again.  The current reason for rejecting of emails, does not always referrence the logsat.com domain name.  (I.E. If the message being rejected is from the xyz domain, then reason for rejecting is ...Your domain xyz.com does not have a valid MX DNS record. Disconnecting...  But if the message is from xxxxx.com the the reason for rejecting is ... Your domain xxxxx.com does not have a valid MX DNS record. Disconnecting...)

Dan,

Can you please make sure the DNS server(s) that SpamFilter is using, is actually working correctly? You can verify this by using NSLOOKUP from a command prompt on the server with SpamFilter. From an MSDOS prompt, please issue these commands (in bold). Instead of the entries in red, please use the IP of the DNS server SpamFilter is using, and one of the domain names that is failing, in the sample below. If the DNS server is working, you should get a reply containing the list of MX record9s) for the domain. If not, either the DNS server is not working correctly, or the domain is misconfigured when it comes to their MX record.

C:\>nslookup
Default Server:  ns2.netwide.net
Address:  192.168.26.10

> server 209.26.140.2
Default Server:  ns1.netwide.net
Address:  209.26.140.2

> set type=mx
> logsat.com
Server:  ns1.netwide.net
Address:  209.26.140.2

Good Morning,

It appears to have been the DNS server I was pointed to.  I did like you suggested, and the DNS server did not respond correctly.  So I changed the DNS servers to one I knew were working correctly, and the problem cleared up
