Hello,

Thanks

Seeb

Seeb,

If your database is on the same side of the firewall as SpamFilter, the only port required is 25 (SMTP) (both directions) and Port 80 (HTTP) for SFDB updates.  I have a remote MS-SQL server and use Port 81432 but the default SQL port is 1433.  I do not allow remote connections on 1433 to prevent "SQL Blaster" and other SQL attacks. Unless my coffee has not yet cut in, I think that will do it.

Thanks for answer Desperado,

What about connection to MAPS servers and SURBL servers?

Latast build verification should go on port 80 I think?

seeb,

Incoming:
SpamFilter needs the incoming SMTP TCP port 25 open. The latest version also supports SSL over SMTP, and in this case the default port to use is 465 (if you wish to use it).
If you chose to use the administration web interface for SpamFilter, by default it uses ports TCP 80 (http) and TCP 443 (ssl). Both can be modified if needed.

Outgoing
SpamFilter needs to send out emails, so TCP port 25 should be open.
DNS queries require both TCP and UDP port 53 to be open
The SFDB filter requires TCP port 80 to be open.
