I've asked this before, but we are still have this as a big irritating hole in our spam filter.

we whitelist an address, say "jobs@ourdomain.com" so people can mail to this without any fear of being blocked.

spammers randomly mail in blocks of say 40-50 addresses per connection and happen to send to the jobs address.

any addresses after that point are treated as okay and valid so the next 40-50 attempts get through and are accepted as whitelisted messages.

Result is that we have messages that should be blocked as spam but get through regardless.

Is there anyway to stop this behaviour?

for example, a whitelisting that only works for one connection or one single addressed message.

Multi-recipients have always been an issue. I believe they have to accept all the emails IF you have Bayes turned on. If you turn Bayes off it does not do this. There was a recent thread about this a couple of weeks ago.

do you know the thread WebGuyz?
(I'm doing a search now).

We have Bayes switched off and the messages still get through.

If there was a way to switch this feature's behaviour around, or some tweak in the ini file or similar that would be great.

thanks webguyz...

will have a look at that.

hadn't realised the distinction with the AutoWhiteListForceDelivery.txt

we don't use the Bayesian (yet) but will try this now.
