Hi, I installed the eval version of Spam Filter and requested a temporary activation code. All went well working fine.

I have now purchased Spam Filter with the AV code and have a problem. I installed the new registered version of Spam Filter, and Activated the new activation code. The status is active, yet the GUI reports no antivirus support files found on server.

Ive seen a previous post saying to check for DLL files, and NSE/BIN files, and registry keys, all prevent and correct.

If I try to uninstall the AV Plugin I get error 'Could not open INSTALL.LOG file'.

When I restart the Spamfilter service, I see in error "Could not initialize Norman A/V engine - error $00010013" in the activity window & log file.

Many thanks.

lyndonje,

If the GUI reports "No Antivirus support files found on server" it usually indicates that the antivirus plugin was not installed correctly.
Can you please try to:

Stop SpamFilter.

Delete the SpamFilter\nse and SpamFilter\nvc directories.

In the registry, delete the key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Norman Data Defense Systems]

Reinstall the antivirus plugin, ensuring that you select SpamFilter's directory as the default install directory.

Start SpamFilter

If you're not using the latest version v2.7.1.522 already, we'd recommend upgrading to this latest pre-release build. It solves a possible issue downloading the latest virus definition files, and we will be releasing it officially this week.
And let us know if that solves the problem?

Doing those things in that order worked. GUI now reports Norman antivirus found, using 2.7.1.515.

Thanks.
