Hello,

When a users mailbox is over his quota, a normal mailserver routes back the message saying "mailbox quota exceeded".  However, when using Spam Filter, the message is kept in the queue until it can be delivered to the user.

Problem: 1) Sender does not know that the message has not really been delivered and 2) Queue can run full because users never empty their mailbox...

Would be nice if a message could bounce because of a Quota Exceeded problem

Actually when SpamFilter attempts to forward an email to your SMTP servers, and the user's mailbox is full, your SMTP server should reply back to SpamFilter with an error. SpamFilter then, in turn, will see the error and immediately send an NDR (non-deliverable) email back to the sender. The original email to the user with the full mailbox should in no way be sitting in a queue...

If this is not the behavior you're seing, there is likely a problem. If you can zip and email us a copy of SpamFilter's activity log for a day this occurred, along with the from/to email addresses involved, we'll try to find out what is happening.
