I have just setup Spamfilter and so far I have been impressed. One thing I have noticed is that when i use Mailwasher on my local client computer some of the spam that is coming through is identified by Mailwasher as being blacklisted by spamcop yet the exact same server is setup in spamfilter (bl.spamcop.net) and is letting some of the emails through. Is there something else that needs to be done to eliminate all of the messages that match the RBL.

Do you have your Min MAPS matches needed to reject messages set to 1?

Yes the min Maps match is set to 1. Any other thoughts.

Ken,

Can you please try to manually check the if the IP address of the remote server connecting to SpamFilter is indeed listed or not? You can do that by using the "Check if IP in ORBS" button on the activity log tab within SpamFilter. That will let you know if and by which list the IP is listed.

I was able to find the solution. I had my mail server set up in the DNS as a backup MX record. The spammers were bypassing the filter server and delivering straight to the Mail server. Removed the MX record for the mail server and the spam slowly decreased.
