While SpamFilter is looking up MX records, can it be set to detect a return MX path of 127.0.x.x and give an option to not even bother to pass it on? As the mail administrator, I get hundreds, if not thousands of these: ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors ----- ----- Transcript of session follows ----- They just annoy the hell out of me AND my Sendmail server. |

Good catch Dan! Actually the existing MX record test already checks for invalid records, ex. those with 127.0.0.x.
The problem is that in build v2.6.3.495 there was a regression error that caused the MX record test to not detect all problem. We've just uploaded the latest build v.2.7.1.510 that takes care of that. This build is also looking to be the next official release candidate, that may be released this weekend. |
