Can you please ensure that the following DLLs are in the SpamFilter directory?

Dwnse.dll
Libeay32.dll
Ncl.dll
Nselapi.dll
Ssleay32.dll

They are all contained in the main SpamFilter.zip distribution file and should have been copied over by the setup program. If you upgraded this server manually from anolder, pre-antivirus build of SpamFilter, then they may be missing.

If the DLL files above are there, can you please check if you have the antivirus plugin directory, namede either NSE or NVC under the SpamFilter directory? In there there should be a BIN directory containing a handful of files, NSE.EXE being one of them. If NSE.EXE is there, can you, from a DOS prompt in that directory, issue the command:

NSE /INSTALL

And restart SpamFilter.

The command should not return any messages on screen. However a registry key called "Norman Data Defense Systems" should be created under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE

Can you please verify that the registry entry is there and let us know what values (if any) it contains?

If the above command does not report any problems, it's possible that somehow your virus definition files appeared to be corrupted. Can you please stop SpamFilter, uninstall the antivirus plugin, delete the SpamFilter\nse (or \nvc) directory, and reinstall the plugin, ensuring you install it in the SpamFilter directory?

Nielsen,

Can you make sure you're copying and pasting the full activation code, without any leading or trailing spaces? Also note that some email programs will force a word wrap, and may break the code into multiple lines. Please ensure you enter it on a single line in SpamFilter.

That said, can you please let us know what (if anything) is displayed in the "Activation Status" box after you click on "Activate"?

IN regards to your question about the ini file, the activatio code will be written to it if it is valid.
