Any chance we could log directly to a database or have spamfilter zip up logs autmatically or something along those lines???

Sorry, but that cannot be done. Logging can become very intensive on
some servers, and entering the information in a database could cause
rahter unwanted bottlenecks. Some of our users wrote utilites that
regularly rotate logs, but we do not have anything of the sort planned
for the near future.
