Running 692 build....a lot of complaints about the PDF spam emails still getting through.

Looking through the spamfilter.ini, I found a lot of missing settings such as image threshold, none of the PDF settings, ect.

After adding the image threshold that was missing (and setting it to 10), I went back to the GUI and changed the setting to 15...it did not change in the ini file.

I don't think the PDF filter is working here either....

What am I missing?

HELP!!

Roy

Roy,

Try build 697.  Not all pdf get captured but a lot more.  I also keep adding various pdf names to my attachment block list.

Roy,

Most settings in the ini files have default values, and they are not written to the ini file itself until you click on the:

"Save Settings" button on the "Settings - Configuration" tab for the "SpamFilter.ini" file

and on the

"Save Settings" button present on the new windows that contains the domain-specific settings for the "Filters.ini" file

Please note that the image filtering settings can be customized individually for each domain. So if you're running SpamFilter Enterprise, they will be in the "Filters.ini" file specific to the domain in question under the \SpamFilter\domains\domain name\Filters.ini. The default settings for "ALL DOMAINS" will be in the "\SpamFilter\domains\ ALL DOMAINS\Filters.ini".
If you're running SpamFilter ISP "standard", the file will be in "\SpamFilter\domains\SFI\Filters.ini"

Roberto,

Thanks for the explanation...that now makes perfect sense.

The PDF stuff is better with 697 (much actually)...(Thanks for the suggestion Dan!).
