Where's the local SMTP pickup folder for Spamfilter ISP?

I am having a problem that i cannot route emails directly via Spamfilter ISP, but can I drop those mesgs into its queue folder and the SFI will pick up and deliver them for me?

Where's its mail pickup folder then?

The directory is the SpamFilter\queue. You will have to have two files per message.

The email with the message itself needs to have the extension .tmp (ex Ind1.tmp)
You will have to add another file with the same name and the .rcpt suffix (ex Ind1.tmp.rcpt)

The .tmp file MUST contain the <CR><LF>.<CR><LF> end-of-email sequence at the end.

The rcpt file MUST contain two lines, the first with the FROM:<recipient@domain.com> sender, and the second with the recipient. If there are multiple recipients, they need to be specified on separate lines. Ex:

FROM:<support@logsat.com>
sales@netwide.net

Does this still work??

I have a need to pickup some email from a pop3 mailbox and filter it as if it arrived via smtp, however the files don't seem to be picked up.

I am running version 3.1.3.605

OK, slight mistake....I now see that by default, SF processes this queue every 60 minutes !!!!

So, now it's processed the queue, it just sent the email straight out to the recipient.

What i need is a queue like this, but when the mail is picked up, SF should treat it like an incomming SMTP connection and apply all of the filters and rules.

 

Is this possible ??

Sorry... SpamFilter will only apply filtering rules to emails that are received, live, on the SMTP port. It will not act on files.

Please note that even if you were able to take the email from the pop3 mailbox, and then send it via SMTP to SpamFilter, we'd recommend against that. SpamFilter performs a lot of filtering based on the source IP address. For example, the SPF, MAPS RBL, reverse DNS, country filters, all act on the source IP. If you forward an email, the source IP will not be the same, and filtering won't be right. Some filter, like the SPF, will also often block legitimate emails, as they'd be originating from IPs that are not authorized to send emails on that domain's behalf.

As the source IP is in the headers, would you ever consider implementing this functionality??
