Every message which Spamfilter tries to send to our Novell mail server we get this error message:

Socket Error # 10053 Software caused connection abort. - message queued

What could be the possible problems and how to resolve.

Thanks in advance!

Andy,

That error usually indicates that the connection to the destination SMTP server was dropped by the remote server. Can you please check your mail server's logs to see if they show any reason for disconnecting SpamFilter when it attempts to forward the emails?

I believe it was a problem with how I specified our mail server in the white list.  I orginally had it specified as <domian name>.com, when I reconfigured I specified as <domain name>.com:25 I then received a socket error #: 11001 host not found.  I have checked our mail server's log, and none of the forwarded emails seem to be hitting it, yet I can ping the mail server from spam filter machine with no problem.

Any suggestions

Andy,

If you can email us at support at logsat.com your SpamFilter.ini file, along with the text file containing your local domains, and the domain/server with which you're having problems, we'll try to figure out what the problem is.

Check your virus protection software. When ours was enabled we were getting the 10053 errors.

On Exchange,  Do you have the ROOT IP of the SpamFilter as an allowed relay?
