hi folks, Any suggestions?

request #1) sometimes default smtp server is not allowed to relay for NDRs generated by spamfilter.  Is it possible to code and add new ini entry that allows one to specify IP and port of alternate smtp server for NDR. Assuming this doesnot violate internet standards.

Obviously, Alternate smtp server will be authoratative for domain in question. and would have a valid R-dns entry and will be MX host when seen from internet.

 

Request #2) Could we also be given an ini entry so that a copy

of NDR can be sent to a mailto:user@somedomain - user@somedomain (defined in ini) for purpose of diagnistic and testing. obviously this ini entry can be turned off for production server if performance is issue. however much needed in test environments.

Your #1 is a very good idea, it will help reducing blacklisting problems in case your default SMTP server is sending too many NDR, especially to spam-traps that may result in your site being blacklisted.

We added the option in the a new build we just made available in the registered user area.

The release notes for it are below.
