Is there a way to set this up by default to unfilter all email of a domain, mailto:*@domain.com" CLASS="ASPForums" TITLE="WARNING: URL created by poster. - *@domain.com BUT if they're email is listed in the Authorized To section to filter these domains.

What i'm looking for is an easy way to add email addresses to be filtered.  i dont want to have to maintain a seperate list of emails to filter, and emails not to filter.  It looks as if the unfilter is being processed before the filtered section.

Andrew,

We've thought about this one for a bit. SpamFilter does not provide the option to specify a list of emails that should be filtered in a domain, while allowing all other emails to be unfiltered. You may reach a compromise however by using the "Unfiltered Emails" whitelist in a rather unorthodox way. If the emails that are to be filtered have some kind of pattern in their naming convention, you may try using an *exclude* RegEx statement so that all emails that match the pattern are filtered, while the ones that do not match instead bypass the filter. This however will most likely only work in a testing phase, where you can create email addresses with specific patterns to be using in spam tests, it will not be practical in a live environment that has varying email formats.

The ability to filter only email addresses specified in a list and pass all other addresses unfiltered is exactly what i am looking for.

Is this a option planned for a future version?

If not, i will have to keep looking for a filtering solution. Unfortunatly this ability is a must for me.

Deano,

Unless the number of emails that you want to filter is very large, most likely this is already possible by using the "Unfiltered Emails" whitelist. Since that list, like most others, supports RegEx (Regular Expressions), it should be possible to contruct a single regular expression (containing the addresses to be filtered) that triggeres a match only if the address in *not* on the list. This would mean that addresses not on the list would be whitelisted, thus not filtered, while the selected ones are instead filtered.

That whitelist was not really designed with this purpose in mind, but since RegEx is very powerful, if the number of emails to be filtered isn't huge, this may work.
