Here is a thought but I do not know what the "over head" would be.

While doing an RDNS & SPF lookup, can am MX lookup be don on the reply or from domain?  Then toss out anythin with an invalid IP like 127.0.0.x.

This is a good idea, I've added it to the wish list, but do not have a timeframe of when it can be implemented.
