I extended my software maintenance back in April, but I did not see anyway to go from my current software to the Enterprise Version. How do I make a transition from SpamFilter to SpamFilter Enterprise? Please explain the cost and the process for upgrading to SpamFilter Enterprise. Thanks Edited by TechSquared |

Unless you have a compelling reason, why not just stay with Standard?
Correct me if I am wrong, the difference between enterprise and standard is mostly where they store the settings. |

Stupid, that certainly is part of it. Enterprise does store it's settings in a database, whereas SPI does not.
However, Enterprise is designed to allow mail admins great flexibility in customizing different filter settings for several, even hundreds of domains, all on a single SPE instance. There's a feature comparison listed here: http://www.logsat.com/sfi-feature-comparison.asp I'll let someone else comment on pricing structure. I would not want to mislead if I said something that was incorrect. Stephen |

Good point, Stephen. My mind always sits on single domain scenario.

TechSquared,
The procedure for the upgrade is included in the documentation for SpamFilter 3.5. As we've been asked this sdeveral times in the past weeks, we've also just added a forum posting to explain the process. You may find it at www.ogsat.com/spamfilter/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=6162. As far as cost, the upgrade was available for free for all users with a valid software maintenance at the time this new version was released on April 14 2007. The announcement of the release of SpamFilter Enterprise, along with the details on the free upgrade and pricing, can be found at www.logsat.com/spamfilter/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=/6028&a mp;PN=1 We sent all users an email that same day containing the same information. For all licensed users that allowed the software maintenance to expire, we are offering the upgrade for just the difference in price between the two versions. Upgrades from SpamFilter ISP to Enterprise retail for $600. Please note that the free upgrade is not retroactive. This means that if users allowed the software maintenance to expire, it will not be possible to go back and renew the maintenance and then obtain the free upgrade. |
