I like the performance counter option because I don't have to get paged in the middle of the night, but the downside is we're then relying on Microsoft's&nbsp;Performance Counters&nbsp;reliability and stability&nbsp;to save SpamFilter.&nbsp; SpamFilter should protect itself; my opinion.&nbsp; </P>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.logsat.com/spamfilter/forums/member_profile.asp?PF=47">pcmatt</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 6178<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 15 August 2007 at 9:53am<br /><br />This is critical because other tools are not tied to SpamFilter processing logic and not everyone can afford to be watching monitoring tools 24/7/365.&nbsp; <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Right now when SpamFilter runs out of disk space it keeps trying to work and ends up sending permanent failures to every inbound email attempt.&nbsp;&nbsp; A simple API call to verify that there is disk space available to run can prevent this.&nbsp; If the SpamFilter service shuts down at least a backup MX handler can keep the mail flowing.&nbsp;&nbsp;Furhtermore, you are better off with no MX handler, as email would queue up on sending servers, than having a SF server with no disk space sending permanent errors for every email.&nbsp; </DIV><span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by pcmatt - 15 August 2007 at 9:54am</span>]]>

We do however recommend using other tools monitoring the hardware, as they often do a much better job in alerting and recovering fro similar problems.]]>

I remember that SF spool al incomming mails in the system memory and do not sending (forwarding) anymore emails when harddisk is out of space.</P><P>I think that is an good idea to implement a function to diable receiving of new emails if space on harddisk will be less than x MB space and send an alert-message to <A href="mailto:blablabla@adminDomain" target="_blank">blablabla@adminDomain</A></P><P>&nbsp;</P>]]>
