I have been testing the SF for about 3 weeks.  My database is currently 45MB.  I have noticed that after I delete emails out of quarantine, the database size does not change.  I have waited the "hour" for the database to purge, but still no change.  Is this normal?  The emails do successfully delete from the web interface.

What DB are you using?  Most Databases have their own "jobs" to "shrink" the database on a schedule.  Also, in the case of MSSQL (what I use) it will not simply grow each time a record gets added but will grow buy a specified increment.  This is done for speed and efficiency.  My database is more like 6GB.  Can you just imagine the activity required to dynamically move all the records around each time a record is added or removed?

Desperado is correct as usual. The "shrinking" is a function of the database, and if you do not have a maintenance job scheduled on the database server, usually the DB will not shrink by itself. If you're using MS Access, there is a "shrink" procedure that needs to be manually initiated.
