My activity log only shows the internal program messages and no longer the email messages that are being recieved and sent.  Also all my statistics stopped working and the counters at the bottom of the activity log screen stay at 0

The spamfilter is still working, sending email to the mailservers, quarantaining mail, ...

I'm using v.

Are you sure that you are not looking at the standalone version of SpamFilter that was started, while the SpamFilter service was already running in the background?

An example would be the following scenario.
The SpamFilter service is running and processing emails. You connect to the server with remote desktop (in non-terminal mode), and start the SpamFilter.exe standalone program. The 2nd instance is not able to listen for incoming SMTP traffic as the serice is already running, so you will only see the internal messages in the log.
