Error is "string matching error"

The very last line indicates where in the regex the error occurred.  ParseReg Unmatched () means that your parathesis are not matched.  Based on what's on the post it should go: ((word|word2),word3)

In regex you need to escape the open paranthesis, otherwise it will think it's a metacharater. \(
